How do you manufacture a carton box?
Carton boxes are made up of recycled paper, to make it sturdier this is sandwiched between two liners. The liners are produced by pressing moist fibres together from wood, rags or sometimes grasses and then drying them to make flexible sheets. Most carton boxes manufactured are made from recycled content, either old cardboard or second-hand paper, making it the environmentally friendly packaging option.
What are the different types of carton box packaging?
There are a few different types of carton boxes manufactured, however, they can be very broadly grouped into three types, folding cartons, rigid cartons and corrugated boxes.
Folding cartons are made with a single sheet board, these are probably the most common type of carton box you will see across retail stores. A good example is your basic cereal box, this is a folding carton box.
Rigid boxes these are stronger than folding boxes, they do not fold or collapse. There you will see being used for more high-end products and heavier products to provide some extra support. For instance, a phone box or high-end shoe box will likely be a rigid box.
Corrugated boxes are the usual cardboard boxes that classically you would perhaps use to pack your belongings when moving house. These boxes are also often used in retail.
